WWKD

(What Would Kelsey Do?)

WWKD: Exists to help the people of Haiti, one of the poorest countries in the world. Over 50% of the population of this island nation live in extreme poverty. They subsist on less than $2.00 a day.

WWKD: Helps the people of Haiti create a sustainable environment by providing housing, food, education and medical aid for families in impoverished Haiti.

WWKD works:

  • to provide jobs in the field of constructing home from earth-based bricks created in Haiti;
  • to provide sustainable gardens for food and provide cows, goats and chickens for on-going food sources;
  • to educate children and adults in basic hygiene, set up primary school programs through local orphanages, establish secondary and trade schooling assistance, and develop senior homes for the elderly for basic health care.
  • to sponsor, host and develop local medical clinics for those in need in Haiti using US based volunteer medical professionals, including but not limited to, general practice and specialty doctors, nurses, dentists and other health care professionals.
  • We are a Washington State not for profit corporation with a 501(c)3.

Danita’s Children and WWKD

As we approach the 3rd anniversary of losing Kelsey, we wanted to take a few minutes to reflect on her trips to Haiti, and the place that started her love for the people of Haiti, Danita's Children. During Kelsey's last trip to Haiti she wrote in her journal about the...

Home Build – Haiti 2019

As you can imagine, there is so much to share with you all. First and foremost, thank you. We could never have built this home alone. We have tried to pull together a summary of our thoughts on this amazing trip to Haiti. We have put together a Haiti Home Build...

Be the Change!

Photo credit: https://www.flickr.com/photos/usaid_images/8404847001/ Imagine going to the water faucet in your kitchen and nothing comes out. Here, in the United States, it's an inconvenience at best. We fix it and move on. But in Haiti, fixing it is not an option. In...

Your Legacy Lives On

15 months have passed, and life has changed a lot. Though most of the daily routines remain the same, I find that I am more aware that each day is gift, and the time doesn’t change how much I miss you. Living so far away from home means that I don’t get to spend as...

What have we been up to?

February is one of those ironic months of sunshine and snow, like mother nature can't quite decide what's going on! Fortunately, WWKD has lots of things going on and we can't wait to share!   First of all, our First Annual Superhero's Auction was a huge success! After...

2019 and a year of moving forward…

2019 has arrived, and with it, our first full year without Kelsey.  There are so many things I want to tell her.  And then I remember...I thought that would get better as time goes on.  What I've really learned is that I'll always have things to tell her.  And that's...

How can it be a year?

The common thread I hear from everyone lately is how it doesn't seem possible it has been a year since Kelsey passed.  I can tell you that we all know exactly how long it has been.  We notice it in so many ways.  We notice it when we took the long awaited family...

It.was.amazing!

We had a Superhero's Auction and Dinner in Pasco this past weekend.  It reminded me of the saying, "if you build it, they will come".  And come they did!  We were overwhelmed with the sold out event! Family, friends, friends of friends, new friends and beloved old...

10 months and counting

It's funny how the 10th of each month rolls around and I pause. Of course, I pause on the 9th and the 11th too.  And everyday.  It's all so different with you gone.  I talk to you all the time, and I know you're listening.  So tonight I have to share all the amazing...
